Austin Secular Families holds weekly events specifically dedicated to providing socializing for secular families with children. A regular meet-up is held on the third Sunday of every month at 10:00am.

We have a separate meetup page exclusively for our events.

 Chips & Chat

First Monday of each month at 7pm.

Chips and Chat meets at various Tex-Mex restaurants around town. The venue changes monthly, varying between a north, central and south location. Join us for informal secular socializing and fried unleavened corn bread.

 Discussion Group

Second Wednesday of each month at 7pm.

Location: Old Quarry Library, 7051 Village Center. Special meeting room in the back of the library to the left.

Topics vary each month exploring current events and the tough questions of the day with a dedication to Free Inquiry.

Some of us go to El Arroyo Mexican restaurant, 7032 Wood Hollow Drive, at the east end of the complex, after the discussion for more discussion, libations and/or food.

 Drinking Rationally

Second Monday of each month at 6pm.

Location: Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub, 9012 Research Blvd. We typically have a separate reserved room. Turn from the main entry and go through the double doors.

Join us for a secular happy hour of informal discussion and socializing.

Burger special $3.99, house wine $2

 Food for Thought

Third Monday of each month at 7pm.

Location: Trinity United Methodist Church, 4001 Speedway, enter side door on 40th St., then 1st door on right.

Our monthly lecture and presentation series with Q&A, exploring the latest scientific research from professors at the University of Texas along with civic and political leaders from around the region. y

Some of us go to Hyde Park Bar &Grill, 4206 Duval St., after the lecture for food, libations, and further discussion.

 Non-Fiction Book Group

Fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm

Location: ACA Library, 1507 W. Koenig La, (south side of street), limited parking in back.

Join us for an interesting discussion about non-fiction titles of varying intellectual rigor. Sometimes pulled from the New York Times best sellers; sometimes looking back through books we have missed over the years.

 Secular Suzies

 Meets once a month to give secular women time to socialize and discuss matters that are important to them without having to censor themselves regarding their lack of belief in the supernatural and/or lack of religion. We take our name from Susan B. Anthony. This group is open to women including transgender women who are secular, secular humanist, atheist, agnostic, freethinking, skeptical, non-theist, and/or non-religious. Events are usually meeting for dinner. Sometimes special events are held.
