Hector Garcia is a clinical psychologist who writes on evolutionary psychology. His talk is based on his book, Alpha God: the Psychology of Religious Violence and Oppression.Evolutionary psychology is a theoretical approach to psychology that attempts to explain useful mental and psychological traits—such as memory, perception, or language—as adaptations, i.e., as the functional products of natural selection. Additionally, it finds evolutionary explanations for human behavior in areas such as mate choice.

Stepping Out: Mammal Limbs & Movement.Pamela Owen with the Texas Memorial Museum is presenting this workshop in conjunction with CFI Austin's Darwin Day 2019 event. It is open to the public as well as 5-12 teachers.
